The iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak now supports iPod 3G/iPhone 3GS

Great news Jailbreakers! Pod2g confirmed, the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak now support the iPod 3G and iPhone 3GS. So, once the Pod2g’s untethered jailbreak is released, iPhone 3GS and iPod 3^rd generation owners will be able to do untethered jailbreak on their iDeveices running iOS 5.1.1

Couple of days ago, Pod2g announced that iPhone 3GS and iPod 3G won’t be compatible for the jailbreak but it seems he found a way through and now iPhone 3GS and iPod 3G will be jailbreakable.

The reason these devices were initially excluded was because the kernel vulnerability used to accomplish the jailbreak on other devices didn’t appear to work on the iPod 3G and the iPhone 3GS.

• iPad 3 Wifi
• iPad 3 CDMA
• iPod 3G
• iPod 4G

Here is the list of devices that won’t be supported:

• AppleTV 3

• iPhone 3Gs
• iPad 2 GSM
• iPad 2 CDMA
• iPad 2 Wifi, R2
• iPad 3 Global
• AppleTV 2
